Keysha Sumbane and Diana Simão are childhood friends who decided to start a cosmetics brand because of their shared passion. The two students participated in the national final of ClimateLaunchpad 2021 with the Baby D Cosmetics business, a sustainable brand of artisanal cosmetic products for haircare and skincare. The main transformation of the business was in terms of its impact on the environment.

These entrepreneurs shifted from a more aesthetic focus to an approach centered on environmental sustainability and expansion. When we spoke with the two, they shared their plan to enter the European market via Germany where one of them studies.
“We gained a more dynamic view of our products and how we can really impact people’s well-being. Now we are thinking about entering the German market and not just that of Mozambique”, as the entrepreneurs mentioned.
